After downloading the Android app (RDesk.apk)

Android blocks installs from outside the Play Store until you allow this one file. It takes about ten seconds and only has to be done once.

  1. Open the downloaded RDesk.apk from your notification shade or the Downloads folder.
  2. Android asks to allow installs from this source — tap Settings, turn Allow from this source on, then press Back.
  3. Tap Install, then Open.
  4. Grant the screen-capture prompt when you start a session. Android shows its own recording notice for the whole session — that is by design.

Updating? The new APK is signed with the same key, so it installs straight over the old one and keeps your Display ID.
